Splitting of Joshua Tree Council
Girl Scouts - Joshua Tree Council will be split in order to merge in two directions. The Kern County portion of our council will merge with the Tulare, Kings, Fresno and Madera counties to form a new council that serves the southern San Joaquin Valley. The Los Angeles County portion of our council will join with five other Girl Scout councils to form one council that serves all of Los Angeles County.
Since Joshua Tree Council's current jurisdiction will be divided into the Golden Valley merger and the Los Angeles merger, assets belonging to the council as a whole, must also be divided. Click here to see the board's decision on how this will happen.
